Beautifully flowing, ecological, and silky soft Tencel / lyocell fabrics offer an excellent alternative to traditional cotton. Made from eucalyptus tree fibers, Tencel is one of the best eco-friendly fabric choices. A closed-loop process is used in the production of the fiber so that the chemicals used can be reused. The eucalyptus tree grows quickly without fertilization, pesticides, or watering.

Tencel lasts a long time in use and feels luxurious after washing. The surface of the fabric has a slightly silky shine, and it is smooth and does not pill.

Tips for sewing Tencel and Ecovero jersey with elastane

The Myllymuksut Tencel jerseys are a very high-quality single knit with elastane. The tricot has a square weight of 270 g/m², so it is very durable and suitable for sewing everything from underwear to leggings. Our Tencel tricot is very stretchy and does not wrinkle when used. Use quality jersey needles and good yarns. Thanks to its good stretch, these jersey fabrics will fit all shapes and sizes.

When sewing a women's dress or tunic with pockets, we recommend placing the pocket about 1cm higher than in a thinner cotton jersey, because due to the heavier weight of the jersey, the pocket drops a little lower.

The width of our Tencel tricot is approx. 165cm, often even a little more, so you can make most basic clothes from one width. Our customer service will be happy to help you if you need help sewing Tencel lyocell tricot or any other mind-boggling matter.
